A three-bedroom federal row house a single block from the Library of Congress. The heart-pine floors are original to 1887; the plaster cornices in the principal rooms have been preserved and cleaned. The rear garden is small but walled, paved in brick, and shaded by a mature magnolia.
A ground-level garden apartment, leased separately, means the principal residence begins on the parlor floor and runs to the attic, which has been finished as a small study with a skylight.
